Rania abu elazm
Rania Abu Elazm is an Egyptian visual artist and a dedicated lecturer in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University. Born in 1984, she earned her PhD in Painting in 2021. Rania is an active member of the Visual Arts Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture in Egypt and was honored with the State Incentive Award in Painting in 2022.
Since 2002, Rania has participated in over 90 group exhibitions both in Egypt and internationally. Notable exhibitions include the General Exhibition (38th–45th editions, 2016–2025) and Art Cairo 2025 at the Grand Egyptian Museum. She has also contributed to significant events such as the 13th Luxor International Painting Symposium (2021), the 58th Cairo Salon (2018), and the 4th and 5th White–Black Salon (2017–2020). Her work has been featured in the First Egyptian Plastic Arts Exhibition at the German University in Cairo (2018) and the Heritage Revival Exhibition at the French University in Cairo. Additionally, she participated in the Empower Her Art Forum (first and third editions) and the World Art Forum at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (2022).
Rania’s international presence includes collaborations with Tam Gallery and Arts-Mart Gallery in London (2018), a workshop and exhibition in Rajasthan, India (2019), the Be Part Exhibition in Rome, Italy (2020), and Rome Art Week (2024).
Her solo exhibitions showcase her artistic evolution, with significant displays including “Line × Color” (2015), “Barcode” (2018), and “Untied Roots” (2024).
Rania has received multiple accolades throughout her career, including awards in Painting and Drawing from Helwan University (2004) and several Painting Awards from the Lovers of Fine Arts Association (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010). She was also recognized with the Youth Salon Display Award during its 27th edition in 2016.
Her artworks are housed in both public and private collections, including the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art under the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, CIB Bank, and various private collectors in Egypt and abroad. Rania Abu Elazm continues to contribute significantly to the field of visual arts, inspiring future generations of artists.
