Amina Mohamed Salah Salem

Born in 1981, Salem lives and works in Cairo. She is a full-time painter.
Her work presents women as a main subject, using various compositions to create scenes from the past and the present to represent independent contemporary women.

Salem paints with oil colors and uses collages, decoupage and objects to create a unique signature for each serie of her various series.

She also uses Arabic calligraphy to add mysterious messages to create an oriental mood versus the directness of her contemporary women.
Salem is always seeking new techniques and experiments creating different levels in the same painting or adding unexpected materials to the painting, to achieve a recognizable style despite.

Amina Salem with a passion for painting that came instinctively at a very young age with a passion that led her to attend the school of fine Arts in Cairo, before pursuing a BA in mass communication 2004. She Also studied under the late Magd El Sagini, developing a finer understanding of artistic drawing and painting.

Paintings and portraits by Amina are evidences of admiration of the human form, mainly of women, that is expressed through her use of realism and painterly styles. Her art reflects beauty, positivity and femininity and her paintings feature women in different forms where she can portray women’s beauty, fragility, and their ability to endure the toughest conditions in life.
